Author
of the book “Right Brained Children in a Left Brained world” He is also a
contributing writer for the book “Uniquely Gifted” by Kiesa Kay as well as a
contributor to the book “The Attention Deficit Solution, The Ultimate Self Help
Guide for Teens, by Shane Hills and Elizabeth Blanchard. He has a master’s in education and has
worked in the field for the last 20 years.
Jeff believes that our culture is creating more
right brained visual learners than ever before,
and that schools need to find as much credible
information as is available in order to raise test scores, and keep students
interested in learning. Jeff believes that there is a whole array of strengths,
which can be used instead of typical methods in order to teach the basics to
these students. Students can learn to
spell, read, do math, and study in a way that uses their strong visual minds
instead of hammering at their weaknesses.
Jeffrey Freed offers consulting
with schools and individuals as to strategies
that have been proven to work with ADD, Dyslexic, and visual learners. Jeff has worked with over a thousand parents
and dozens of schools across the country and around the world. He is most interested in working with
schools who want to change their way of dealing with this increasing
population.
When working with a school or school district, Jeff will train staff
in effective techniques which work with these student’s learning styles in a hands-on, ready to be used in the classroom
style; which will enable teachers to instruct their visual students to better
reach their potential. These techniques are common sense and very effective in
teaching the visual learner, in a way that is harmonious and natural to their
style. Jeff’s services can be
individually tailored to meet your school’s needs. Jeff offers one day and two
day training sessions, which can be modified to work with small or large groups.
In addition to teaching children, Freed is a
nationally known speaker on ADD
issues. He
delivers in-service programs to educators on the nuances of effectively
teaching right-brained and ADD learners. He has been interviewed by national print publications and has also been
a regular guest on television and radio talk shows on ADD and at meetings for
parents of ADD and gifted children.
Jeffrey also offers individual sessions
with parents and students in an intensive one,
two, or three, day consultation. He is available in Evergreen, Colorado or can work with your students in your
hometown.
